Stressful pre procedure arrangements. Moving from tiny cubicle to the next cramped cubicle, waiting area to waiting area.
The only, only time for a bit of peace and calm reflection before the op/procedure are the few minutes lying on a trolley immediately. before anaesthetic. Sitting naked under a paper gown next to fully clothed patients waiting for their turn is very, very uncomfortable.
Cramped cubicles meant that the patient in a wheelchair was interviewed for a diabetic condition in the passageway, in full hearing of us in the waiting area.
However, all the staff are wonderful. They are kind, cheery and very supportive.
