"Ok in the beginning"

About: Alexandra Hospital

The nursing staff on my ward were great and so was my surgeon for an operation on my wrist I was in and out in no time. My only gripe is at the post operative appointment where I was not told how successful the operation was, if there were any complications and if the had to cut deeper than planned.

The doctor who saw me at the post op did no do the surgery and asked me to put my hand in certain positions of which I could not do and the doctor said that is fine.

I also got an infection in my hand the cannula went into and I told the doctor this and they completely dismissed this and said it was an allergic reaction. The doctor couldn't have got me out of the room quicker. I have been discharged and do not know whether this operation was successful and what has actually been done! Could be a great service if the hospital improved on its communication with its patients.

Thank you for feeding back to us. I am pleased that your operation went well however I am disappointed to hear about your post-operative. Please contact our Patient Services Department on 0300 123 1732 or email patientservices.dept@worcsacute.nhs.uk if you would like us to investigate your concerns or arrange for you to speak to a member of staff about this.
