"Op to remove cancerous growth on leg"

About: St Helens Hospital

Arrived at the department early in the morning, staff very pleasant. They provided full details of procedures prior to my operation.

I was seen by doctor who explained clearly what they intended to do. Taken to theatre, again by pleasant friendly staff. Staff in theatre made me feel very comfortable. I was only having a local anesethetic and they ensure I was comfotable throughout the procedure.

When I went back to the ward I was given a tray with tea pot, cup & saucer, milk, and biscuits. Staff explained how long I would need to stay before being discharged home.

Unknown to me staff had also given my husband who was waiting outside a tea tray. He had stayed as we live too far away for him to go home.

Both of us agreed that the whole experience from start to finish was wonderful.

A big thank you to staff on this unit.
