I am writing this review to just say a Big thank you for all the care and treatment I received at this amazing hospital!!!
On 17th Dec I had my gall bladder removed at Wansbeck Hospital, I left hospital on 18th Dec and had two good days at home before becoming unwell, I was advised to go to Cramlington to find out what was wrong and was kept over night on ward 15, I left next day after ultrasound showed some fluid collection but was thought to be constipated , unfortunately after another two days at home I become very poorly and at 10 at night on 23rd Dec, I was rushed back to Cramlington, the accident and emergency dept. were wonderful and from there was taken to ward 15, the next day I was taken to ward 3 and after another ultrasound and a CT scan was found to have a large fluid build-up so was started on IV Antibiotics, eventually I was allowed home on Boxing day with a 10 day course of Antibiotics, I am so much better but cannot sing the praises of everyone I came in contact with enough!! I feel I must inform you of a member of staff who really stood out for me- a porter, who was so incredible at their job and stayed with me durning a very painful time at my CT scan, changing my chair for a bed and helping the scan staff to move me quickly, also helping me get comfortable in my own bed on returning to ward 3, they brought tears to my eyes as to how concerned they were, just incredible.
