"Over the moon"

About: Queen Victoria Hospital (East Grinstead)

I went into Queen Victoria hospital East Grinstead at the end of September 2015 to have a delayed bilateral Diep reconstruction. I would just like to express my thanks and gratitude to the whole team who were fantastic. I felt so special and cared for from the time that I arrived in the hospital to the time that I left. It was a very long operation and I was absolutely petrified but the medical team and staff made me feel very much at ease with each member of staff giving me a step by step explanation as to what they were going to do and who I would be seeing next. The anaesthetist was fantastic as I was quite anxious about being put to sleep but they explained exactly what was going to happen which really did help me relax after that. A very nice person. All in all I found the whole team and hospital staff superb. My operation was a true success which I am over the moon with and can't thank the surgeon and team enough for giving me back a body that now looks "normal". They are perfection - both the surgeons that operated on me and my new breasts. The hospital and the ward (Margaret Duncombe) with all the caring staff were brilliant. So I would like to say a very big thank you to you all.

Dear Linda

Thank you for sharing your very personal experience.

We are really pleased to learn of the care and compassion that was shown by the staff throughout your stay as it is extremely important to reassure and fully explain to patients the process that they will be going through. All the staff work very hard to ensure that patients are made to feel as comfortable as possible and I know that they will appreciate your positive feedback.

It is a real credit to our staff and service that you have described your experience as 'brilliant' and the breast care team are extremely appreciative of your comments.

Once again thank you for taking the time to post your comment and we wish you all the very best with your continued recovery.

Kind regards,

Nicolle Ferguson, Patient Experience Manager
