Appointment was changed by hospital staff to 12.30. Arrived in good time and reported to reception.
12.30 came and went. 12.45 came and went. 1.00 came and went.
1.10 went to reception and was told someone would come soon.
1.20 a nurse arrived and took me to a room not the usual treatment unit.
No explanation for delay given.
Went through the same humiliating questions faced every time, explaining to nurse that procedure is done in KGH because district nurses have refused from the beginning to do it at home, and CNS arranged for procedures to be done in hospital, only to be told they don't normally do procedures except for difficult ones.
Humiliating!
Also there was a stranger in the room sitting eating at the computer, wearing street clothes.
No explanation of why they were there was given, no opportunity to say if we minded them being there, especially considering the intimate nature of the procedure.
Not very hygienic environment.
Instillagel is meant to be administered five minutes before procedure for it to take effect, according to NICE guidelines, this was not done.
No appointment made for next procedure, this is supposed to happen according to your own guidelines.
"Adult day unit"
