"13 hour trolley wait!!"

About: Leeds General Infirmary

I am currently sat in the CDU ward at the LGI, I have a very painful chronic pelvic condition for which I am awaiting major surgery. I was brought to A&E at 10.50 this morning by ambulance with loss of sensation and use of one of my legs. I have since been moved from A&E to CDU where I am still laid on a trolley waiting for a bed on a ward. I waited nearly 6 hours for the results of my MRI scan and I have been on a trolley for almost 13 hours. This is unacceptable for any patient but for one who has constant lower back and pelvic pain it is unforgivable! I will be lodging a formal complaint on discharge.

Dear Ms Bainbridge

I am very sorry to read of your long wait in our Urgent Care department. I would ask that you contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) team at patientexperience.leedsth@nhs.net or on 0113 2066261 to provide more information so that we can ask management in Urgent Care to respond to you.

Kind regards

Rosie
