"Not allowed to visit with children"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Neurosurgery

(as a relative),

I came to visit my mum on N2 ward, when we rang and asked what the visiting information was nothing was mentioned about children under the age of age. We arrived with my daugther age 6 and was told that they wasnt aloud to stay, so we left. On the way out we looked for signs saying about children and infections and the only sign we saw a number of times said ' children are there parents responsibility and its up to the parents to makesure the behave in a respectable manner'

Now im home I have searched the website of the hallamshire hospital and it doesnt say anything on there either! Im not best impressed

I am very sorry to hear about your experience and the inconvenience that has been caused. I have escalated this to senior management and to Matron for N2 so that they are aware of your comments.

If you wish to pursue your concerns further please can you provide further details to our Patient Services Team who can be contacted on telephone number 0114 271 2400 or by emailing pst@sth.nhs.uk

Thank you
