"Surgeons' failure to act"

About: Ninewells Hospital / Neurosurgery

(as the patient),

I was losing strength & feeling in my limbs to the extent I began falling over & eventually could not walk at all.

A consultant neurologist diagnosed degenerative disks in my spine & said I needed surgery asap & admitted me to Ninewells.

Neurosurgeons refused to operate despite my condition continuing to deteriorate. I eventually managed to get the surgery done at another hospital.

Dear Jazz1122

Thank you for taking time to share your experience. I am sorry that you were unable to have your operation at Ninewells Hospital but am pleased to note you have now had this carried out at another hospital.

To enable me to look into this matter more fully, I would require to obtain some further information from you. If you would like me to do so, I would be grateful if you could contact me either by telephone on 0800 027 5507 (freephone) or via email to feedback.tayside@nhs.net.

Kind regards.

Alison Moss
