What I liked
The Children's A&E department was clean and had a good selection of toys. The doctor was saw was very nice and examined our baby gently.
What could be improved
the reception staff member was appalling. For a parent coming into A&E on a Sunday morning with a baby with an obvious head injury to be met with a reception person trying to do the filing was terrible- we waiting in line for agood 5 minutes whilst the staff member seemed to be doing paper work, after this time we asked if this was in fact A&E reception to which we had the reply it was (back to filing)... after another few minutes we said we needed to be seen as our baby had a head injury to which we had the reply "I am just doing this filing I will be with you in a minute". By the time we were booked in there were 4-5 others waiting in line with various injuries. The staff member was rude, uncaring and had a complete disregard for the priorities of the job... patients in first, random filing second.
After a very nice triage nurse saw us we then had a very long wait in the Childrens part of A&E, we had to turn the rooms lights on, there was no drinking water and no members of staff in there at all.
Anything else?
The main reception was utterly appalling! I would not recommed needing A&E on a Sunday morning.
