"Extremely Dissatisfied"

About: Royal Free Hospital

I was admitted to A&E on Tuesday 15th December following a fall.

After an x-ray I was told that there was no thigh fracture.

I was discharged later that day in extreme pain and had also picked up a urinary infection and had become doubly incontinent.

By Thursday 17th I was back at the insistence of my GP, given another x-ray and again told there was no fracture.

A CT scan was initially ruled out, but at the insistence of my GP and myself, one was eventually performed and showed fractures to my superior and inferior pubis rami, a site that had originally been fractured two years ago.

Subsequently I was transferred to 7 North where I received excellent care and attention.

I fully appreciate that A&E departments are busy places, particularly over the Christmas period, but I must complain in strong terms about the dismissive attitude of those who examined me om the two occasions.

I would very much like to hear your comments.
