"Fantastic care on the ward, post discharge, different story"

About: Stockport NHS Foundation Trust Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as a carer),

My mother went to Tameside Hospital for surgery. Initially she was kept sitting for nearly 4 hours waiting for the procedure without any information as to how long the wait would be.

Post surgery, a different story altogether. Fantastic care on the ward by all the staff, kind caring compassionate and very professional. Take a bow Tameside.

Post discharge, different story again. District nurses not bothered to visit to remove dressing as advised. This was done over the telephone... I know...maybe in my opinion, it is what we should expect, so back to reality.

Thank you for sharing these comments with us. We do value feedback like this so we know what we are getting right and what we can improve on.

The community services currently are not within the remit of Tameside Hospital Foundation Trust but going forward with an integrated approach this will change.

Many thanks again and best wishes to you.
