Over the past year or so I developed a form of generalised inflammatory arthritis and was eventually referred to the Rheumatology Team at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary. Although it took a few months for an appointment which was during the worst stage of things and I wished had been sooner, the care across the board from start to finish has been the best you could hope for.
When the appointment letter arrived it contained useful information and the lifeline of a direct phone contact to the team. This immediately put you in touch with one of the Rheumatology Nurse Specialists. They have been extremely helpful even before my initial appointment and subsequently. Being overwhelmingly limited by the disease and pain their compassion and sympathetic care has been a credit to their professionalism. The 3 Rheumatologists I have been treated by are amazing. They are everything you could hope for in a Dr, informed, good listeners and compassionate.
I have required an array of treatments to address my problems that are complex and the care provided by the team has been exemplary.
