Following a standard eye test, my optician sent me to a&e to investigate a raised optic nerve. I just want to pass my thanks on to all the staff involved in my visit last night. The department was very busy, but once we saw the triage nurse, we were dealt with swiftly and kept well informed as to what was happening. The triage nurse was very apologetic for the wait, and had a lovely manner, and the doctor who dealt with my case, was brilliant at keeping me calm and informed. And the 2 staff who carried out my CT scan kept me relaxed with good humour. Finally, a big thank you to the nurse in the EDU for finding me an egg sandwich to stave of the tummy grumbles! Overall, I was in your hospital about 4 hours, and given my situation, it was a far less stressful visit than it could have been. I hope neurologist can build from my a&e experience!! ;0)
