"Cataract extraction and lens implantation"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

I cannot tell you how impressed I have been with the operation I had on Saturday 19th December 2015.

From being referred to the doctor in Henley-on-Thames by my doctor to having the operation last Saturday, all aspects of my treatment have far exceeded my expectations.

My operation has turned out to be just amazing.

My sight is back to normal and the whole experience has been fantastic.

A special thank you goes to all the staff in pre-op eye day clinic who made sure that everything was in place for my operation.

Another special thank you goes to the staff on the day of the operation who really put me at ease.

Nothing was too much trouble for them.

They relaxed me with their approach to their jobs and even made me a cup of coffee.

Just perfect.

The consultant who operated brilliantly and the anesthetist were very caring just prior to the op.

The op itself was great - I was relaxed and the treatment by all operating theater staff was faultless,

After the op even the porter just carried on making me feel good, whilst wheel-chairing me back to the day unit.

Thank you to all the staff at the eye day-care unit.

You were great.

If anyone reading this is about to have cataracts sorted out at the RBH, all I can say is: look forward to it and relax.

You will be in good hands.

Thank you for your positive comments on the standard of care you have received from our Ophthalmology Department.

We have passed on your kind feedback to the wider team so that it can be shared with all members of staff that may have been involved in your care. We do hope you are now recovering well.
