I been going in for my antenatal care and so far staff are nice and helpful, i really like the hospital I just wanted to ask when I have my baby do you provide formula milk bottles anymore? Thanks

I will ensure our antenatal carers receive your feedback.

With regard to feeding, we support all mothers in the decisions they make around feeding but we encourage breastfeeding as it is the best option for both mother and baby, even if it’s just for a short time. Mothers who decide to bottle feed from birth will need to bring ready-to-feed first formula milk in but we provide bottles and teats during your stay. If mothers decide to breastfeed there is no need to bring formula milk in as we have emergency supplies if it becomes necessary, and bringing it in ‘just in case’ undermines the breastfeeding. After the birth, all mothers will be encouraged to hold their baby skin to skin till after the first feed whatever feeding method they choose.

If you have any further questions about this, please don't hesistate to ask any midwife, as they have all been trained to support mothers with their feeding choices.
