"Rude staff, poor facilities, limited dignity"

About: Royal Stoke University Hospital

Following a recent stay of a family member I have to say I was very disappointed.

The ward have no televisions so you sit there all day with nobody to talk to and being told not to move from chair or bed incase you fall, which when you can be there for many weeks is mind numbingly boring and doesnt aid recovery at all. She was washed down by two male staff and would have liked at least one female in room with her as she was intimidated and embarrassed. Staff were rude and made her feel like you were being a nuisance if asked for assistance.

Very much felt like you were expected to sit there quietly all day on your own. The so called day room is unused and is used as a store room anyway for equipment and meal trolleys so clearly you are not expected to use it. Hopefully I will never have to visit there again.
