My wife had three seizures with the last two occurring within a few hours of each other. She was taken by ambulance to the Royal Surrey County Hospital where she received very kind and understanding care.
After the first seizure, some 10 days before our GP referred to the Stroke and medicine for the Elderly Unit at the Royal Surrey. (I should point out that my wife suffers from dementia). We waited no more than a few minutes before we were seen by Dr Pain and his consultant, Dr Ganeshananthan. Both doctors were incredibly considerate and very thorough. We were there for 2 hours and felt that we could not have received any better treatment. My wife even had a CT scan for which there was absolutely no waiting time.
I was so grateful and impressed that I sent the following letter to Dr Ganeshanathan and copied it to the CEO of the hospital. Top marks to this department and the RSCH.
Dear Dr Ganeshananthan,
I am writing to thank you for the excellent service you provided last Thursday when you and your colleague, Dr Tom Pain, treated my wife. The kindness, understanding and consideration that you offered was superb. We both very much appreciated all that you did and we felt that it shows that the NHS really is the great organisation that it has always set out to be.
Please show this letter to Dr Pain and thank him also for organising the CT scan so promptly.
Yours sincerely
"Considerate, caring and comprehensive treatment following two seizures"
