"Eye treatment"

About: Artificial Eye Service

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter was born with a condition called Persistant Hypo Plastic Vitreous PHPV. She was born with a cataract. She had several operations before she turned 2 years old. She had very poor vision in the eye. The eye started causing a lot of problems when she turned about 15/16. It had started to shrink and cause a lot of pain as the surface of the eye had started to break down. The decision was finally made to remove the eye when she turned 17.

Service and understanding was good

“Thank you for sharing your story of your daughters treatment and care journey. I am pleased to read that your daughter and the family have felt the clinical support and information from the team in dealing with this very difficult situation to be good.

I trust we can continue to provide all necessary care going forward.

Many thanks for the time to share this with others as I am sure it will be a help and reassurance to anyone else facing this difficult situation.
