Our 19 year old daughter has severe learning difficulties and regularly self-injures.
One of these episodes led to a severe head injury, with excessive bruising and swelling across her face, followed by listlessness and vomiting.
She was treated at Wythenshawe Hospital last night as her condition was deteriorating.
Throughout her stay, we were treated with absolute respect and dignity by all the staff within the A&E department.
A number of doctors and nurses worked with her and all discussed the condition and possible courses of action with us in a very clear and considered way.
Their work was very thorough, despite the difficulties presented by my daughters condition and their obvious high workload across the department.
They ensured that a CT scan could be done and made certain that our daughter was safe before discharge.
I can only thank all the staff for their skill, devotion, kindliness and hard work in what they do on a daily basis.
"Excellent care, respect & attention."
