Outpatient 'care' is truly shocking!
My husband fractured his spine, he was put on the urology ward for 11 days where he hardly ever saw a doctor. The ward nurses were great but the neurosurgery team were not. We had to fight for two months to get physiotherapy for him as St George's were not interested in helping us. We waited an average of 2-3 hours each time we went for an outpatient appointment and never saw the same neurosurgery team member twice. My husband has been left to just get better on his own and it is only through his sheer determination that he has improved at all. He has now been discharged from St George's with no help or advice going forward. We have never received a copy of any of the letters sent to his GP. When we phone the hospital we can never get through to anyone who can help us and keep having to phone the PALS team to get even the simplest things sorted out. The A&E team are good but once you get to outpatients you will witness the NHS in crisis.
"Shocking lack of care!"
