"Great Care after Knee Replacement"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have recently been at Tameside Hospital and had a knee replacement. I am now home from hospital and waiting for my physiotherapy to start in a couple of days.

The medical care that I received was excellent, nothing was too much trouble and the nurses were so kind, helpful and friendly and looked after me extremely well.

It was clean and the ward had an excellent atmosphere.

At night time there was only two nurses on duty, so they were short staffed, but they worked extremely hard.

The operation itself went well, but it was very painful afterwards. However, the nurses did all they could to make my stay comfortable and to soothe my pain.

The staff nurse, Dana on ward 5 was excellent and I would like to thank all of the nurses who cared for me.

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to post this comment. I am delighted to read that you rated the medical and nursing care so highly and will certainly forward your kind comments to the staff concerned.

I am pleased that the outcome was good for you, in spite of the pain you experienced after the operation.
