"Fairly satisfied with stay at Royal Hallamshire and Northern General"

About: Northern General Hospital Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as the patient),

In an overall assessment, I would say I was fairly satisfied with my stay in these hospitals. However I wish to make the following observations:

Royal Hallamshire: After 2 days, started with a nasal problem of slow bleeding with clotted and obstructed breathing. My G.P is now treating as a bacteria infection & is improving. Often dirty W.C.s - I think more plumbing and cleaning maintenance is needed regularly. Food good. Sleeping bad (not fault of Royal Hallamshire but often noisy patients).

Northern General: Food not as good & tasty as Royal Hallamshire. I would also strongly criticise the system of selecting meals from menus 2 days in advance. Also instances of meals asked for as per menu, not available.

Mixed wards - I think better efforts should be made to eliminate.

Both hospitals - very bad car parking for visitors in my opinion. Nurses good overall - I think a few more are needed. Need to ensure medications (pre meals like insulin) to be taken before or with meals are supplied in good time.
