"southport and ormskirk in decline"

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

I have been visiting Ormskirk for the past two years with an ongoing medical issue, the waiting room in Ormskirk is depressing and overcrowded.If you have to have a blood test the experience is disgraceful akin to a cattle market .i tend to faint so mentioned this and the member of staff said "dont we havnt got time for that , we are only given 5 minutesper patient"The endocrinoilogy department is overworkeed and now short staffed so I have to go to my GP for duplication of care , requests for information so that other consultants can have an overview of complicated multidisiplinary care are not forthcoming.

Southport A and E is disgraceful, I had the misfortune of having to attend 6 months ago and the staff that I met are rude and uncaring and just walk out to change the sign for waiting from 4 to 6 hours without explanation.

My recent visits to Liverpool heart and chest hospital on the other hand are extremely pleasant , with caring staff who clearly enjoy their work and make patients feel valued , keeping them informed.

Maybe some cross training from LHCH so that their ethos can be displayed in southport andOrmskirk hospitals .
