The department have been very helpful to me, I understand my pain more now and I understand that showing compassion to myself during increased periods of pain is not a sign of weakness, but is a way that I can help myself cope with the pain.
The 2 counsellors I have seen have been especially helpful to me, I now understand that there are certain 'vicious circles' that I get into that lead me to be angry and aggressive, this makes it hard to care for myself. Although it is still hard to get out of these circles I am now able to recognise when I am in one and start searching for a way out.
I would like to thank the two people I saw for the help they gave. Also since I am a student at University my availability for appointments have been restricted, but I was always offered appointments that were based on times that I was available, this is not always the case with some of the other services / departments. It made life a lot easier.
The waiting area was always clean and looked after with comfortable chairs available, however I would like to see higher chairs (with arms) available for patients with mobility issues such as I have.
