"Angioplasty procedure - Pilgrim Hospital Boston"

About: Grantham & District Hospital Pilgrim Hospital / General surgery

(as a relative),

My wife entered Pilgrim Hospital Boston for a routine angioplasty procedure in September 2015. The surgeon never spoke to her before, during or after the procedure and she told me afterwards that she felt "like a piece of meat".

As a result of the angioplasty she suffered a hematoma and subsequently died from, among other things, septicaemia in late November in Grantham hospital.

Dear Dickster

I was so saddened to read your posting and am desperately sorry for your loss.

The description of your wife’s experience was really hard to read and I would like to offer not only my sincere apologies but also that you contact me directly at: jennie.negus@ulh.nhs.uk so that I can find out a little more and look into your wife’s care in more detail.

I hope you feel able to contact me as I appreciate that this is a difficult enough time for you anyway without the added distress of your experience.
