From the moment I was diagnosed right through to the operation itself, I was treated with professionalism and dignity to the highest level.
I was kept informed about procedures as they were developing so that I could understand without getting stressed out. Nothing was forced on me, I was given choices, but my choice was to put my life in the hands of these wonderful unsung hero's who have allowed me to now sit at my computer and write this wee story.
This all took place in a short time scale some 3 weeks, then in December 2015 I had the operation to remove about 12 inches of my colon. I can't thank these wonderful people enough especially to Mr Karandikar and Mr Macarthur. I was told due to my high BMI by Mr Karandikar, that I am not the slimmest of men and the operation would be challenging, however with the help of Mr Macarthur I would have 2 brains and 4 hands working on me.
The nurses on the wards were tremendous, expert work done here especially Christine the Colorectal Nurse who has been by my side throughout what a lovely lady. I know its early days and the biopsy report is not in yet, but I am so pleased with everything so far.
