"Thank you to Ward 41 and CCU/HDU staff"

About: Tameside General Hospital

(as a relative),

My brother was admitted to Tameside Hospital at the beginning of November and after being briefly on MAU and Ward 3 was transferred to Ward 41for further treatment. He continued to deteriorate despite the care and treatement he received and was moved to CCU/HDU.

The care he received while on Ward 41 and CCU/HDU was excellent and although he sadly passed away at least I am comforted knowing that he was given the best of care both by the nursing and the medical teams. They not only looked after my brother but cared for us, his family when we most needed it. Their compassion with us was second to none and of such value at a difficult time.

A big "Thank you" from all of us to all the staff in those areas.

May I begin by offering my condolences on your sad loss. The loss of a loved one is, of course, never easy, and my thoughts go out to you and your family. As you say, there is comfort in the quality of care your brother received at the hospital, and I am pleased to read that you felt that our staff looked after you and your family as well as your brother. I will make sure that the staff in all the areas you mention are aware of your very kind comments. I am sure they will particularly appreciate the fact that you went to the trouble of expressing your appreciation at this difficult time.

Kind regards
