"10 hours in A&E!"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

Brought my daughter to A&E with a referral from her doctor, who thought she had an appendix problem. Arrived at 12.50 , put on a ward 22.15 and even then, when we were took there by a porter and a nurse, the ward staff we not expecting her. That was the theme of the day, staff were not working together. At one point my daughter was examined in the plaster room and we were left there, in the end I had to find a member of staff to see what was happening , twice. We felt we couldn't go to eat, in case we missed our slot, so survived on vending machine bits. It wasn't just us, other patients were in the same situation. Old people just left in wheelchair ect until other patients stepped in to ask for help with them. I know they said it was busy, but to me it wasn't overly, staff just seemed to be "milling around" trying to ignore eye contact .

Not a good experience
