The other day I went up in the attic to get some Christmas stuff down, I knew there was a wasp nest there and even though I was being careful I managed to disturb the wasps and got stung.
I thought it was just a couple of stings but then I was stung a few more times when I took my jacket off and realised some wasps had worked their way into my jacket at the back and up my sleeves.
I called the doctor to see if I could get an appointment to see someone but was told to call 111 as there were no appointment available.
The lady who answered the call was lovely, I was upset and frightened but she calmed me down and then said I should go back to the GP and ask to be seen at the surgery as the surgery was open and the doctor was available.
I duly went back to the surgery and relayed what the lady at 111 had told me – this time I was given an appointment to be seen in the evening. I’ve now had a course of antibiotics and am much better although my earlobe still feels a bit tingly. I’m a bit annoyed that the surgery would only give me an appointment because the 111 service said the GP had to see me.
"111 service was very helpful"
