My youngest had an accident. Was knocked unconscious and had obvious facial fractures. I took her to A&E by car. I should have called 999 but it was quicker to take her myself. BIG mistake, it was 45 minutes before she was TRIAGED!
She was in shock, had lost conciousness when hit and was in pain. We had to ask the triage nurse for a blanket. 2 paracetamol was her pain relief! Back to waiting room for another hour and a half! Seen by ENP then who finally checked her thoroughly, ordered xrays and communicated really well with my daughter and parents. Thankfully no real lasting damage after 2 operations!
"Triage time was too long after we arrived by car"
