I recently had to attend the colposcopy department after receiving abnormal results on my smear test. I had to attend several appointments during which they tried to remove the affected area but I was told I had to return to have a LLETZ performed under general anaesthetic.
I was really impressed with the speed and efficiency of receiving treatment - even having a taxi deliver an appointment letter to me so I would get the appointment in time! I also received great care from all of the nurses, who were extremely friendly and caring and made the experience a lot less scary and uncomfortable!
I have had a letter today to say that my follow up smear has come back normal and I do feel really grateful to have received such great treatment at no cost. My only criticism would be that sometimes the doctors were unapproachable, rushed and came across as a bit cold, however the friendliness of the nurses more than made up for this!
Wanted to pass on a huge thank you as I think we are often too quick to either judge the NHS or take it for granted.
"Grateful for great treatment"
