"Poor experience of Pilgrim Hospital"

About: Pilgrim Hospital

(as the patient),

Had my meals in room with full commode. Staff not removed it even at meal times, it was like dining in the toilet.

Three of the staff was unpleasant. I am disabled and was told we don't make beds, help yourself to sheets and blanket. I was left in dirty pjs and unwashed all day. A cleaner said I should complain as this was not right.

I rang my husband to take me home. He rang the nurse in charge. It was a bad experience, don't want it again.

Dear b b king,

I was very concerned to read your comments regarding your experience of Pilgrim Hospital. Clearly what you describe is totally unacceptable, and goes against everything we are trying to achieve as a Trust.

We would like to investigate what went so badly wrong for you but to do this I will need some more details from you. If you would be kind enough to either telephone me directly on 01476 464560, or e-mail me at Sharon.kidd@ulh.nhs.uk, with your name and the date of your stay, I will pass this information on to the relevant ward management.

They can then review your experience and put things in place to ensure this is not repeated in the future.

In the meantime, please accept my sincerest apologies.

Best regards,

Sharon Kidd, Patient Experience Manager
