On the whole the nurses and doctors that dealt with my child were helpful and professional but what I witnessed while waiting for results was disgusting. A nurse from another ward brought their daughter and grandson into be be examined as the grandson was unwell, the nurse told their daughter to wait in the triage room" you don't want to sit in there with everyone else" referring to the waiting room. We then got called to find out the results of the x-ray but because the nurse and their daughter were waiting in that room the doctor had no where private to speak to us so we then had to wait a further 30 minutes until a room was available. A poorly 4 year boy who hadn't eaten or had fluids in 4 days was being sick in the waiting room while us patients were trying to help him and his mum we were just passed a sick bowl as the nurses were all busy attending to the other nurses grandson "to get them in and out as fast as they could" while the nurse was sat with their daughter 4 other members of staff off their ward came to look for them to see where they were to which they told I won't be long I'm just sorting this out so they was obviously needed where they were supposed to be working! With in 30 minutes the grandson had been treated and left with the gift of a new teddy bear that none of the other children had received. My sons fingers were then taped together in the corridor and we were sent on our way. The service we received was mostly good and I do give praise to those nurses and doctors as they were trying their best but the fact that poor unwell child was being sick and was not given any attention as everyone was running around dealing with the nurses grandson is appalling!
