I live 200 miles away from my elderly Father and I was informed by the care home there he lives that he had been take to A+E with ? uti and confusion. I spoke to a charge nurse on duty who was charming and informative - I told them I was a nurse myself - they reassured me enough with some limited detail whilst in no way breaching my fathers confidentiality. The following day my Father arrived in A+E again and by accident I spoke to the same Charge nurse who remembered me and again was extremely helpful. I then spoke to a nurse on the ward were my Father had been admitted, who again was most helpful and caring. The NHS at its best - many thanks and well done from a very appreciative daughter.
