"Nobody answers the phone"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

Unfortunately my GP referred me to the North Middlesex for an ultrasound sound as I have a large lump under my arm. I asked her not to refer me to the North Middlesex as every experience I and my friends have had for the past 30 years with the North Middlesex Hospital has been bad to awful. But as the surgery only had North Middlesex forms on the system, I was referred to the North Middlesex.

For the past 3 days I have tried getting through to someone in the ultrasound department using their direct line to make an appointment. But nobody is picking up the phone. I have tried going through the hospital operator. They have kindly told me that they are aware that there is a problem so I should try going through Breast Imaging, as they sometimes pick up the phone. When I have tried this route I always get the same message, "Due to unforeseen circumstances we are unable to answer your call. Please phone back."

When I have tried getting through to the Complaints Department, to try and find out what is happening, I only get an answer phone that asks me to leave my name and phone so they can phone me back. I have left my name and phone number 3 times. Nobody has phoned me back.

I have tried phoning NMH Patient Advice and Liaison Services. The number has been disconnected.

When I tried leaving this review there was no category/department for Ultrasound to leave it under, so I selected General Medicine.

Defeated, by this shocking service, I will now go back to my GP to ask her to pleassssssssse refer me to another hospital!
