"Trying to get an appointment in orthopaedics..."

About: The Great Western Hospital

My son was referred to the orthopaedics department, but there were no appointments available through the on-line booking system. His details were referred through by the on-line booking contact, and we were told we would receive an appointment within 14 days. 14 days later - no appointment, and when I (finally) got through to the orthopaedics department at the hospital there was no record of the referral. So then I had to go back to the GP who confirmed that the referral was made 14 days ago and they couldn't understand why the hospital were claiming they had not received it. Such stress! Just to get as far as the appointment, let alone the diagnosis and helping my son to deal with the problem. So now the GP will fax the referral and I have to ring again. Just as well I'm only a single Mum running a business - not like I'm already stressed and pushed for time.....

I know everybody is pushed for time, but surely getting a system that works would reduce stress and save time for everyone?
