About: Colchester General Hospital

I went to A&E after several severe nose bleeds, which did not want to stop. I was triaged quickly and told there was a 2 hour wait. I was told that should my nose bleed start again I should let the staff know and I would be seen. This is what happened & I was taken straight through.

All the care I received was first class from emergency, to the ENT Doctors to the ward staff on Brightlingsea ward. I ended up staying on the ward 3 nights. I had to wait for a while for a bed, but I put this delay firmly on the shoulders of the conservative government who chronically underfund the NHS. It's only when you need it you truly appreciate how lucky we are to have the NHS. All our hospitals are under this pressure and I think Colchester is coping as well as it can.
