"Ward B1 - Credit where credit's due"

About: Russells Hall Hospital

As a former staff nurse its very easy for me to be over critical and often unsatisfied with hospital experiences.

But this review is nothing but positive. The staff on Ward B1 deserve nothing but praise and my gratitude following my father's recent stay on the ward.

Having been admitted for an elective procedure which went well, my father suffered life threatening complications and without doubt the attention and dedication to care on Ward B1 saved his life.

That care extended to myself and my mother also and every effort was made to ensure we were looked after while my father was being stabilised, and we were allowed time to spend with him outside of visiting hours which was a great comfort for all of us.

No doubt the best thing was taking home my father happy and healthy...the outcome could have been so very very different without the amazing people on B1. Staff were even calling on days off to check his progress which really shows how much those wonderful staff actually care about their patients. All too often these days people moan and complain about the NHS, its about time we saw more positive reviews too. I know how hard I worked to make sure patients were well looked after when I was nursing and they received the best possible care..Ward B1 is full of staff who go that extra mile to ensure their patients are listened too, looked after, respected, treated with dognity and receive the best care. Thank youB1. You're amazing!

A special thank you also to the HDU Outreach and Cardiology teams.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such positive feedback about your experience of your father’s stay on ward B1 at Russells Hall Hospital.

It must have been such a worrying time for you and your family when your father developed complications, and such a relief that the outcome was so positive. It is wonderful to hear that you were so pleased with the care your father received from our orthopaedic team and that you were also so well looked after.

We are so proud of our dedicated nurses who so often go the extra mile for our patients and their loved ones. We have pleasure in passing your kind comments on to the teams involved in your father’s stay on B1, in HDU Outreach and in Cardiology. We would also like to wish your father all the very best for his recovery.
