"Loud breaching of confidentiality"

About: Caerleon Clinic

(as the patient),

I visited the GP clinic in September 2009.

Whilst waiting I heard the receptionist discuss loudly, with her work colleague several diagnoses of people who rang in. As well as this she discussed other peoples' health problems with members of the local public who called in at the surgery.

Several members of staff walked past whilst she was talking and no one told her to be quiet or to stop talking about various peoples' diagnosis and treatment.

Also this receptionist and other receptionists in the surgery continue to call the health care assistant in the surgery a nurse when they are arranging appointments for taking blood or other investigations. The surgery patients think that they are visiting a nurse and they are not.

I am concerned about this because as far as I know it is illegal to call someone a nurse when they are not, as the name is protected in law.
