After diagnosis of a large kidney stone circa 1.5 cm stuck in a water pipe I was given clear advice on options .The stone failed to reduce by external zapping I was advised laser surgery was required. I am a very nervous patient and the staff were excellent at getting me through what ended up being three procedures over 14 months. My care was first class from beginning to end, after years of intense pain the stones are gone. Any treatment is worrying but my experience was that this department understand what is routine to them is worrying to you and attempt to reduce your concerns by kindness and understanding.
