About: Crosshouse Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had the most wonderful support during a very long and painful labor. The midwives, the nurses and support staff, and the doctors were all wonderful, friendly, helpful and very caring. The facilities at Crosshouse were amazing, and I felt as though I was as comfortable as I possibly could be considering the circumstances.

After I had the baby, the doctors did a great job on the episiotomy stitches, and I healed very quickly. I really struggled with breastfeeding, and the women in the maternity ward who helped were absolutely lovely and encouraging and supportive.

Almost 4 months later, I'm still breastfeeding, but only because of the immense support from the them, the Breastfeeding Team, and the Breastfeeding Network. I am so grateful to everyone who made a huge difference in making the experience so positive, despite all the pain I was in.
