"A&E and ward 3"

About: South Tyneside District Hospital

It's not often I write reviews but as a nurse at this hospital I thought it only right I have my opinion as a patient rather than a nurse . It's easy to complain when things are slow or treatment is not what you want but I all I can say is thanks . From the time I hit A&E to being transfered to ward three I has first class service . This wasn't because I let it be know I was a nurse as I didn't . I had 5 lots of investigations in A&E including 3 different scans. I couldn't have received better service if I had gone privately . My only niggle and it's only a little one was I was asked to go round to X-ray in a hospital gown and to be honest I felt a little exposed . Would have been better to maybe give me another gown to wear as a dressing gown. Only a little thing . Staff on ward three were great and cheerful which helped . I was always asked if I was comfortable or needed pain killers

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience of our services.

Whilst no one likes going into hospital, I am delighted the care and attention you received met the high standard which we pride ourselves in.

I will ensure your lovely words are shared with the staff in A&E and Ward 3.

In the imterim, I wish you good health for the future.

Kind regards

Steve Williamson

Chief Executive.
