I was admitted to ward 31 after a referral from my GP one Friday evening. Every member of staff on the ward is an absolute credit to the hospital! I was assessed promptly and seen by a consultant straight away. I initially had a 5 night stay and was then re-admitted 2 days later for a further 2 nights. During both stays the staff were extremely kind, caring and compassionate. My daughter was 7 weeks old at the time and they did everything possible to ensure I could spend as much time as possible with her. They also supported and helped me through the difficult times of being separated from my daughter. In particular nurses and HCA's sitting in my room one night at 4am to console me as I became very emotional.
From the very beginning and throughout
I was involved and informed about every aspect of my care and treatment. My consultant was exceptional and ensured I had all information available to me regarding my treatment. They made me feel at ease during a number of procedures I had during my stay and always discussed outcomes and what would come next with myself and my family.
All of the staff on ward 31 made a very difficult time much easier for myself and my family and they are all a credit to the hospital and the NHS.
