I have to echo the previous positive reviews of this oasis of professionalism!
The standards set at the John Radcliff are high in general, however once in the Cardiothoracic arena the standards are truely ramped up to new highs.
It is at every level - the cheery porters, with a quick jest or snippit of local knowledge, the staff bringing meals and drinks - with their understanding that it can take 3 hours to eat a bowl of cornflakes. Then the nursing staff... oh wow! I am so sorry for anything inappropriate that I may have said while in recovery post op, I knew not what I did. The night before the op, being mildly terrified of the events of the following day, an angel calmed me down and put me in the right frame of mind to see it all through... Thank You!
To all of you through the intensive care unit, the surgical team, the Physio's... Thank you.
Thank you for making my worst nightmare an experience that I survived with a smile on my face and relief that your professional capabilities have saved my life and minimised the pain and discomfort in doing so.
