"Communication and short termism in older peoples services in Forth Valley"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Elderly medicine Ludgate House Resource Centre

(as a relative),

Elderly decorated WW 2 veteran awaiting scan in Ludgate House Assessment Service contracts an infection this week and 48 hours into arriving in Forth Valley Hospital is evicted from Ludgate House.

Immediate family not involved in decision making and do not want to make a fuss but are distraught. He is responding to treatment but nowhere now to go back to, somewhere new creates confusion and he will now be in an expensive acute bed consuming more resources getting more confused.

This is an individual, family and resource/health social care tragedy.

Dear NHS Veteran

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch and leaving feedback of your recent experience. I am so sorry that the experience has not been a more positive one for the gentleman and his family.

It must be such a worrying time for you and your family, if you would like to have a chat with me about your experience, you can contact me on 01324 566523 or alternatively you can email me on p.marland@nhs.net

I hope your relative is continuing to recover well and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kindest regards
