"Everything else is fine – if the carers could just come when they say"

About: Independent Living Services - ILS South & East Ayrshires

(as a service user),

I was in hospital this year and since I got out I’ve had carers at home to help with my medication. They come four times a day and also help with washing and dressing in the morning, making cups of tea and getting ready for bed. I’ve had a stroke so need help with these things.

The carers were also doing some cleaning for me but I wasn’t very happy with it so now my daughter does it.

The service is good, it’s dependable. I know the carers will come although when they come is another story; this is something that could improve. The times they come vary, you can be waiting a while. It means sometimes I can’t go out because I’m waiting for them. I get a rota but it’s not always adhered to.

Everything else is fine – if the carers could just come when they say.
