just spent 2 weeks on ward 9 after kidney surgery.i was woken up during the night by a nurse pricking my finger with a needle.i asked them what they were doing, and they they he were checking my blood sugar level.i told them I was not diabetic and to stop.they seemed startled and said, oh its routine.the next morning I told a nurse and they just dismissed it as if it was nothing.if this is a routine test why was I not asked for consent first, and done during the day
"blood sugar test"
