"From admission to passing - "Excellent" in a word"

About: The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (King's Lynn)

My mother Pauline was admitted through A&E a few weeks ago she spent time in Terrington Ward and Shouldham Ward until she passed away comfortably without pain in her sleep on Monday night.

She was very happy extremely comfortable and well looked after, the attention to her care, needs and wants was first class. My mother was an independent lady who was able to complain. this wasn't necessary she had nothing but praise for all of the clinical, nursing and support teams, she was a certainly a character as well as being challenging at times, she was fully aware of this. True praise indeed from this wonderful lady.

As a family we were well received during visiting kept fully informed and updated at all times, in many respects we all became friends with so many of the teams its not possible to single any individual out, they all managed the situation in a gentle and personable manner in an acute hospital which was extremely busy and didn't just have our needs to attend to.

The Hospital should be congratulated and so should the wider NHS for providing such a quality service every step of the way, "Excellent" in a word well done to all keep up the good work and standard of care and thank you all on behalf of the family.

Thank you for taking the time to post such a fulsome and appreciative comment on the care your mother received during her final admission into hospital and at the end of her life. It was very good of you to think of doing this at such a sad time for you and all your family. I am very gratified to read that you were all provided with supportive, patient-centred care. I know that staff will be very pleased to hear that they succeeded in providing excellent care at such a critical time for you all and I will ensure your comments are shared with all the staff involved in looking after your mother. Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother and thank you once again for making the time to share your thoughts on her care and her final days in hospital.
