I attended the eye clinic on a Saturday afternoon. I had been suffering with sore eyes for a week after having a flu vaccination, and after the pain and discomfort became worse on Friday evening, I decided to go to the clinic.
I was seen initially by the nurse/clinician who thought it was either viral conjunctivitis or part of the flu vaccination had gone into my eyes. I waited for 30 minutes and saw another nurse, who conducted an eye test and then left to speak to the consultant/doctor present.
Five minutes later, the doctor came in and he conducted a thorough examination and diagnosed me with what he believes to be viral conjunctivitis and proscribed me Chloramphenicol eye drops in case there was an infection underneath the conjunctivitis symptoms.
Throughout my time there, all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
